VSync set to "On" has sometimes a positive effect on image quality, less tearing. So your max FPS is limited by the actual refreshrate of your monitor. VSync On: Same game as above but you run it on a monitor with a 60Hz refreshrate then your min FPS will still be 40 but your max framerate will not reach 80 and will not go over 60 FPS. VSync Off: If you have a game which has a framerate on your system of let's say min 40, max 80 then you would see the framerate jump from 40 over very detailed area's to 80 over less detailed area's. If VSync is working then your framerate is limited to the refreshrate of the monitor. WD VelociRaptor 150GB – Windows Vista Ultimate 64/SP2 Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650 w/Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme

I loaded UT USA/Canada, GE Pro II and REX 2004 and the results are very impressive. Performance is excellent and I haven’t noticed any issues with stability with FSX yet.Īs far as FS9 is concerned obviously the i just eat it up. On a positive note it seems that the “auto” LOD Bias is doing something with FSX as the simmering autogen textures seem be improved with the 10.1’s, I’ll be taking a closer look at this though. With FS9 it’s the same story as with the previous Catalyst drivers, v-sync is locked on and forcing it off in the CCC does nothing.

Using the new Catalyst 10.1 drivers on a fresh Windows 7 64 install, v-sync is working fine in every other game/sim I have except FSX. I don’t know why you aren’t getting v-sync to work in any other game/sim? no joy, not in FSX and not in another game/sim. I can't get VSync to work at all under Windows 7, whatever i try.
